Podcasting Update: the Alt Right, Virtue, and Gamma Males
I have recently been on several podcasts, where we discussed both the contemporary issues faced by the men of the West, as well as the eternal struggles that men of all eras have faced.
The first included Matt Forney, and Jolly Crocodile, discussing the cult-like degradations into base hedonism that are popping up throughout the Alternative Right. On the one hand, these voices are simply the loud minority, but I worry that Gresham’s Law will come into play here, the bad voices driving out the good.
(I’m happy to say that this one very much struck a nerve, hopefully those who disagreed will reconsider their hard-line stances.)
Following that, I was invited to join T.L. on his “Praise of Folly” podcast, in which we discussed the spiritual issues that underlie these political ideologies; the need for virtue, and for meaning within the social sphere:
Finally, Forney had me on his own podcast, along with Melissa Mészáros and Daniel Friberg, in which we discussed the nature of the Gamma Male – the male who embraces snark and treachery, while pretending to honour and intellectual integrity. Be on the lookout for these erstwhile adventuring companions:
